ROSEBERRY STREET
Linda’s home is beautiful, think large spans of glass that look onto what one can only describe as a lush private garden, bringing in lots of beautiful dappled light. A designer dream.
However her bathroom and and her laundry did not reflect the rest of her home. It had the classic problem of a bad layout that did not function well. So that’s what she came to us for help with.
Instead of me telling you about her project see what she had to say below:
What was your space like, and why did you want to renovate?
“The bathroom and laundry had been previously renovated in the early 90’s. They were tired and outdated and the fixtures had started breaking - it was time to renovate! The bathroom was too small, and the laundry was not functional. They were also oddly shaped rooms that wasted space.”
What part of the process surprised you the most, or did you find the most valuable?
The design process was the most valuable. I appreciated the knowledge Ketsa brought to the table, and being able to bounce ideas off her while we finalised the plans. I would never have imagined we could fit a functional laundry in the space we have.
What was the process like, and why did you choose to work with an Architect?
We chose to work with an architect because we wanted professional input to ensure the bathroom and laundry were beautiful, functional spaces that were tailored to our specific needs.
In your situation, you used your own builder. Did you find the process working with us valuable to then move forward with your builder?
Definitely! The plans were perfect for the builder to follow and because we had nailed the design there were no variations during the build.
What do you think of the finished product?
I love the finished rooms. The bathroom is beautiful and peaceful and so full of natural light. The laundry is also very functional and I love that the dog food storage and tool charging is now all out of sight!
Has the renovation changed how you use the space?
The bath has become a haven after a long day. The ledge is just perfect to hold a candle, my book and a glass of wine!
If you could give someone a piece of advice who might be in your shoes, what would you say to them?
Spend time getting the design right. Think about how your current space does/does not work and what you want the final outcome to be. This is where an architect is essential, they can come up with innovative ideas and suggestions to help you realise your vision. Be prepared for setbacks and time delays during the process - life happens.

Have a bathroom that is giving closet vibes instead of spa vibes?
“We recently worked with Ketsa on the redesign of our bathroom and laundry, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The spaces are both functional and beautifully designed, with a great balance of practicality and style. Ketsa was a pleasure to work with - professional, good communication and full of helpful ideas that improved the project in ways we had not considered. We would happily recommend Ketsa to anyone looking for high quality residential design.”
